CATHOLIC PRAYER CHAPLET

Chaplet of the Miraculous Medal

(Also called Chaplet of The Immacualte Conception)

The medal of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Miraculous Medal, was given to Saint Catherine Laboure in 1830 by the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary appeared to Catherine and asked to have a medal made of the image she gave her. Originally this medal was named the "Medal of the Immaculate Conception" but because so many miracles are associated with it, it is most often called the "Miraculous Medal." The front of the medal displays the following words to be recited daily;

"O Mary, conceived without original sin,
pray for us who have recourse to thee"

For each of the three sets of beads:

On the large beads, say:
"Blessed by the Holy and Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary"
and
The Our Father

On each of the four small beads, say:
The Hail Mary

Conclude with:
Glory Be
